Sun protection is important every day, not just at the beach. It's also important to choose the right sunscreen. Chemical sunscreens can cause skin irritation, allergies, or even hormonal changes. A safer choice is a mineral or newer generation sunscreen.
Let's start with what is SPF anyway?
SPF or sun protection factor.
The SPF number indicates how much protection a cream/oil/spray with SPF has against ultraviolet B rays, which cause sunburn on the skin. The higher it is, the longer and more it protects against the sun’s rays.
Is SPF 30 enough or does it have to be SPF 50?
- Light skin, teddy spots, immediately reddened skin – 50SPF, blocks 98% of radiation.
- Fairer skin, light to medium tanning, sunburn rarely 20-30SPF, blocks 97% of radiation.
- Dark skin, dark eyes and hair 15-20SPF, blocks 93% of radiation.
It is believed that using sunscreen will prevent you from getting a tan, when in fact it simply takes longer to tan because the cream does not allow the rays to pass through the skin. Sunscreen helps the skin adapt to the sun.
That’s why we also prefer mineral cosmetics, as they naturally contain SPF protection.
UVB is the main cause of sunburn, but it also contributes to the synthesis of vitamin D in the body.
In addition to UVB radiation, there are also UVA and UVC rays. UVA rays have long wavelengths that penetrate the skin and accelerate its aging. In addition, they increase the risk of cancer. UVC rays are the shortest and most dangerous rays, fortunately still protected by the ozone layer.
So when choosing sunscreen, you need to make sure it has protection against both UVB and UVA.
If I put on sunscreen in the morning, will it last all day?
Unfortunately, no. Both chemical and mineral sunscreens need to be reapplied every 2 hours. Although sunscreens are usually waterproof, we still recommend reapplying sunscreen immediately after swimming.
If the sun is not visible, can UV rays still damage the skin?
Yes, they are harmful! UV rays penetrate even through clouds. That’s why it’s recommended to use sunscreen all year round.

What is the difference between chemical and mineral sunscreen?
There are two main types of sunscreens: chemical and mineral.
Mineral sunscreen
How does it work?
In the simplest terms, it’s like a mirror that reflects UV rays directly back off the surface of the skin.Active ingredients:
Zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These are natural minerals.The effect begins immediately after application to the skin.
Chemical sunscreen
How does it work?
Absorbs into the skin and absorbs UV rays, turning them into heat.Active ingredients:

How do you know if the UV filters in a cream are safe?
The safest are sunscreens with mineral filters, which reflect the sun’s rays back from the skin’s surface. And they provide sun protection immediately after application to the skin. Sunscreens with chemical filters usually provide protection after about 20-30 minutes.
Mineral sunscreens contain ingredients such as Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. Creams with these ingredients may leave a white cast on the skin, but their advantage is that harmful sun rays are reflected back from the skin’s surface.
Octocrylenes – When exposed to ultraviolet light, this chemical absorbs rays and produces oxygen radicals that can damage our skin cells and cause mutations. This ingredient is easily absorbed into the skin. It has also been found in breast milk. In addition, it is toxic to the environment.
Oxybenzone – This ingredient helps other ingredients to absorb more quickly through our skin, but it causes a chemical reaction when exposed to UV rays. Causes eczematous allergy. This substance is absorbed into the skin very quickly and is difficult for our bodies to get rid of. For example, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 97 percent of Americans have this chemical circulating in their bodies because it can build up faster than our bodies can get rid of it.

What does Trinosorb mean?

Always moisturize your skin with a moisturizing cream or oil after sunbathing. Avocado or carrot oil are good choices (the latter adds radiance to the complexion).
Be sure to reapply your face cream after sun exposure and also reapply a sunscreen/SPF enriched face cream.
What should be the order of facial care in summer?
MORNING
- Cleansing – Wash your face with a gentle cleanser that removes nighttime oil and sweat. A hydrosol, which is a very light facial toner, is a good choice in the summer.
- Moisturizer – Always apply moisturizer before SPF. In the morning, use only day cream.
- SPF or Sunscreen – Always apply this last before makeup. Do not mix it with other products, but always apply it as a separate layer. Let it absorb before applying makeup. If you are outdoors, reapply every 2 hours (especially if you are sweating or swimming). It is advisable to use makeup products with SPF for extra protection, but not as the only layer.
EVENING
- Cleansing – remove SPF and makeup thoroughly.
- Serum or treatment product (can use vitamin C, acids, or niacinamide)
- Moisturizing cream or gel
What if I already got sunburned?
However, if skin damage has already occurred, use the 100% shea nut oil to help soothe sun damaged skin instantly. Our own universal balm is also a good moisturizer for the skin.
By using products with SPF, you protect your skin from premature ageing, wrinkles and pigmentation. Take care of your largest organ! Conscious tanning is part of a healthy lifestyle!
